Egret flying off

An Egret on the Arnala Beach

Egret flying off with the prey
Arnala Beach in Virar, near Mumbai, is a good place to spend a day. The place is known for a fort across the beach - Arnala Fort. There is one end of the beach is very busy with fishermen on their job. One can also see many birds competing with the fishermen. Here is an egret who managed a tasty bite.
This was a lucky shot. The sun was bright and the fishermen boats in the background were pretty dark. The wonderful lighting and the dark background allowed a very high shutter speed - that allowed me to capture the bird in motion along with the drops of water. I could have got a better one if my reflexes were better than this. I missed the bird taking off and by the time I clicked, it had turned around and I missed the face. But this one is not bad either!
